We used UK Alternative Energy as part of a recent government grant scheme. We decided to have an air source pump to replace our old gas boiler. From start to finish we’ve had great customer service from the company. Everyone from the company who has been in the house has been approachable and friendly and have worked within Covid guidelines and left the house clean and tidy. Dan, our technical renewable energy advisor has been fantastic and has answered any questions we’ve had promptly. We’re really pleased with the system and would definitely recommend them to others. I had solar panels and the Tesla powerwall installed in late November. Not the best time of year to have solar installed with low sun, shorter days and cloudy weather. Wanting to reduce our own carbon footprint, this seemed the best option. I also wanted to use a local company with experience in this field and UK Alternative Energy ticked all the boxes. They offered unbiased advice and were keen to answer questions that I had. We encountered a delay in getting the Powerwall up and running but this was soon resolved (hence 4/5). At present I am generating just under 10% of our electricity needs with a best of 20% on one sunny day. I am hopeful that as the days get longer and sun gets higher that this will dramatically increase, with the aim of being completely off grid for part of the year. I would definitely recommend UK Alternative Energy, a local company providing a good level of service and reassurance that if I have any issues they are only a phone call away.

I would heartily recommend this company if you are looking for a good supplier for renewable energy installations. Their sales people are more engineering consultants than horrible pushy sales people. They really know their stuff and were VERY helpful. They guided me through every step of the process including getting the RHI rebate from the Government. The installation was also very smooth and well managed with frequent visits from the company to make sure the work was proceeding as planned. The electrical and plumbing work was all done to a high standard with very well mannered, competent technicians. Having the company relatively local to me is also a big plus. Throughout the sales presentation the system was clearly and accurately explained. The company delivered on their promises regarding timings for delivery and installation. The work was carried out efficiently and generating power very quickly. The battery has worked well for us, and allows us to store sufficient energy that throughout the summer we need to buy very few kilowatts from the grid, and in winter the charging of the battery overnight at lower rates for use during the day creates significant savings.

Prior to choosing our new solar system, everything was detailed for us and we knew exactly what we were buying. The installation was carried out well and in a timely way. Post installation, we are very proud of the system. It meets our expectations and more. Our annual electricity consumption is halved and the iBoost+ unit directs excess energy to the hot water. With a new tank and immersion that were installed at the same time … we now switch the gas boiler off in Spring, relying solely on the panels for all our hot water, at least until Autumn.
