I am a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor. Since setting up the business in November 2011 DJC Energy has come a long way. Covering the Midlands, services include Domestic Energy Certificates (EPC’s) Commercial EPCs, Floorplans and Legionella Risk Assessments. We can also carry out Loft, Cavity and Solar Surveys. As well as working with a large number of Estate Agents and Letting Agents across the Midlands, DJC Energy also works alongside a number of ECO related organisations offering New Boilers, Cavity wall Insulation, Loft Insulation, Solid Wall Insulation, and Solar Panels.
This assessment is a legal requirement to ensure landlords can prove in court they have minimized risk should a tenant develop a respiratory illness as a result of a Legionella outbreak.
Any landlord or owner of a property that is to be sold or currently rented is required to have an EPC for that property by law. A property may be re-let during the ten-year lifespan of an EPC without being reassessed. A property cannot be sold (or even advertised for sale) without a current EPC.
A floor plan is a must when showcasing a property for rent or sale on property websites such as Rightmove and Zoopla. Certain landlord licensing schemes are now requiring floor plans be submitted as part of the process.
